The United Way has been a proud partner with BCAA for many years. With Jeff’s extensive experience in developing philanthropic investment strategies to address critical social issues and connecting individuals and corporate donors with causes that matter, his experience will help the team truly measure the level of need in the finalist communities.

Kristi is the face of meteorology at Global BC and is now the co-face of BCAA Play Here. She is loved by British Columbians and is a natural fit for our judging panel. She’s also the proud mother of 2 boys.

Dr. Ian Pike
Director of the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit Associate Professor of Pediatrics, UBC

Dr. Pike has been involved with BCAA for many years, most recently as a Board Member for the BCAA Road Safety Foundation. In addition to his guidance of our Road Safety Programs, he’s also the face of Preventable and has focused his career on the safety and development of children.

Shawn Pettipas
Senior Manager, Community Impact, BCAA

Shawn has managed all community programs at BCAA for 4 years. He’s led the School Safety Patrol, the Car Seat Program, the Volunteer Program, and anything else that is about giving back in our community. Last year he led the inaugural year of Play Here and successfully helped build two brand new play spaces for the winners.

As a co-host of the Jeff O’Neil morning show on CFOX, Karen Khunkhun enjoys waking the city up with a little music and a ton of fun. Karen is honoured to be a part of the BCAA Play Here campaign. As a mother of a young daughter, she knows the value of play for mental and physical enrichment and is excited to help a community create a play space of their own.
